About the Artist

Danny Godinez starting playing guitar at the tender age of nine. By thirteen he was averaging eight to nine hours with his beloved dark brown ‘79 strat wood-sheddin’ in his bedroom, playing for his high school jazz band, and jamming with local musicians that came through town. At 17 he self-released his first album entitled “The Onion Cellar” with his good friend Chris Buchanan assisting on keyboards. Shortly thereafter, he founded his first gigging band called “Cold Globe”. He has been playing guitar professionally ever since. After a 4-year stint at Old Dominion University, he traveled to Seattle in 1996 to check out the great Northwest. Since his arrival he has performed with the likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, ZZ Top, Jason Mraz, Big Head Todd, Rodrigo y Gabriella as well as toured for several years with his own band (Danny Godinez Band) throughout Alaska and “all points in between” both coasts. His catalog includes several EP’s, two live albums and one unreleased album entitled “Danny Godinez Band”. In recent years Danny has been working for the MusicMaker Label producing, writing, and touring overseas supporting their roster of artists. In addition to being extremely honored playing with Micheal Shrieve, Danny performs solo throughtout the Northwest aera and teaches guitar via the Seattle Rock School program as well as private lessons.
